In 1885, Friedrich von Hessing, who ran several orthopaedic sanatoriums, commissioned the Augsburg architect Jean Keller to build a Kurhaus. This one-room solution was built in the style of historicism – like the combination buildings popular during the 19th century especially in the UK – with an impressive cast iron structure and large, closely spaced stained-glass windows which today are most likely unique.
The Park Theatre in the Kurhaus provides a worthy setting and entertaining readings of actor Klaus Müller, member of the Augsburg State Theatre, ensure an eclectic ending of this year’s GRUR Annual Meeting.
