Data protection information

Privacy notice according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

By signing the form on page 35 and by submitting your electronic registration via the website www.grur2024.org, you agree to the use of your data as follows:


1. General notice

The entire registration process and organisation of the GRUR Annual Meeting as well as the collection, storage and processing of your data is carried out by DeutscheAnwaltAkademie GmbH, jurEvent, Littenstr. 11, 10179 Berlin (DAA). GRUR does not collect, store or process your data.


2. Upon your registration the DAA collects the following data

Title, first name, surname, profession/position, law firm/company, street/house number, postcode/city/country, telephone, fax, email, name and address of your accompanying person, payment method invoice or credit card including credit card data, which conference fee you pay, which programme events you will participate in. In order to issue the certificate of participation according to § 15 FAO, we record the professional programme events you have participated in and for how long. Your name title, law firm/company, city/country will be stored and published in the list of participants, which is accessible to all participants of the Annual Meeting. Cancellation of your participation in the GRUR Annual Meeting is also recorded and saved.


3. Purposes of data processing

The data will be processed at your request and is required for the purposes menti oned in Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a and b GDPR for the appropriate organisation and administration of your participation in the GRUR Annual Meeting. The personal data collected by the DAA for this purpose will be stored until the expiry of the legal retention periods, unless you have agreed to longer storage in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.


4. Rights of data subjects

You have the right:

  • in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR, to revoke your consent to us at any time. As a result, we are not allowed to continue processing data based on this consent in the future;
  • to request information about your personal data processed by us in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR. In particular, you may request information about the pur poses of processing, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data have been or will be dis closed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to deletion, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right of appeal, the origin of your data, if these have not been collected by us, and the existence of automated decision-making including profiling and, if applicable, meaningful information on their details;
  • in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, to demand without delay the correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data stored by us;
  • to request the deletion of your personal data stored with us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, unless the processing is necessary to exercise the right to freedom of expression and information, to fulfil a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, to restrict the processing of your personal data if you dispute the accuracy of the data, if the processing is unlawful but you refuse to have the data deleted and we no longer need the data, but if you need it to assert, exercise or defend legal claims or if you have filed an objection to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR;
  • to receive your personal data, which you have provided to us, in a structured, current and machine-readable format in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR or to request the transmission to another controller and
  • to complain to a supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or our company headquarters.


5. Information about your right to object according to Art. 21 GDPR

You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you under Article 6(1)(e) GDPR (data processing in the public interest) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (data processing on the basis of a balance of interests), including profiling under Article 4(4) GDPR based on this provision.

If you object, we will no longer process your personal data, unless we can prove compelling reasons worthy of protection for the processing, which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

If your objection is directed against the processing of data for the purpose of direct advertising, we will immediately stop the processing. In this case, it is not necessary to specify a particular situation. This also applies to profiling insofar as it is connected with such direct advertising.

6. Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.


7. App of the GRUR Annual Meeting

GRUR offers participants of the Annual Meeting the use of a conference app on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets with the operating systems IOS or Android (GRUR Annual Meeting App) via its partner Eventmobi in Berlin. At the beginning of the use of the app, you will receive separate instructions on what types of personal data are processed when using the Annual Meeting app, what happens to this personal data, and how you can object to data processing if necessary.

These cookies are necessary for our website to function and cannot be deactivated in our systems. As a rule, these cookies are only set in response to actions you take that correspond to a service request, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling out forms. Configuration of the data protection settings

Local values ("localStorage") are stored in your browser in order to save the configured values of the privacy settings ("cookie bar"). No personal data is collected for this purpose.

Registration and payment information

1. Registration form / Online registration

Please tick the box or indicate the number of persons for binding registration for all events, including events that are free of charge. (To facilitate organisation, we kindly ask you to only tick the box next to those events you actually intend to attend.) The registration fees are also payable where only individual events are attended. The term “accompanying person” applies solely to personal companions participating in the social programme and the special lecture, but not in the working sessions. Instead of using the registration form, you can also register online for the Annual Meeting via the website www.grur2024.org.

2. Transfer / credit card payment

Following registration you will receive a confirmation of registration and an invoice from the DeutscheAnwaltAkademie GmbH - jurEvent. Please pay the full registration fees (main programme and social programme fees) after receipt of the invoice, but by Wednesday, 11 September 2024 at the latest. In the event of later payment, please bring a copy of the remittance slip for inspection. We can also charge the invoice amount to your credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

3. Early booking discount

All participants whose registration is received by the DeutscheAnwaltAkademie GmbH - jurEvent by Tuesday, 13 August 2024, 23.59 h CET pay the reduced registration free.

4. Signature

It is essential that registration forms sent by fax are signed, otherwise it is not possible to process your registration.

5. List of participants

Editorial deadline for the list of participants is Wednesday, 11 September 2024 at 23.59 h CET. All registrations received after this date can only be recorded in a supplementary list.

6. Cancellation of registration

Registered participants who are unable to participate in the conference will receive reimbursement of their registration fees as follows:

Receipt of cancellation by 13 August 2024: full registration fee minus € 30.00 administrative fee.

Receipt of cancellation between 14 and 29 August 2024: 50% of the registration fee.

Receipt of cancellation after 29 August 2024: no reimbursement.

Please address notifications of cancellation in written form or via Email to the Deutsche AnwaltAkademie GmbH - jurEvent. Instead of cancellation or personal impediments, a substitute may be registered at any time. However, the substitute can only be registered for the conference as a whole, not for individual events only.

7. Liability

GRUR, the GRUR Regional Group South-West, DeutscheAnwaltAkademie GmbH - jurEvent act at best as agents at all times. The participant takes part in all events, including those of the main programme, the social programme and the evening events, at his/her own risk. GRUR, the GRUR Regional Group Bavaria and DeutscheAnwaltAkademie GmbH - jurEvent, even when acting as agents, are not liable for any damage or losses arising from their own breaches of duty and/or from any breach of duty by a statutory representative or a person employed to perform an obligation in connection with the organisation and hosting of the GRUR Annual Meeting including the corresponding main programme, the social programme and the evening events. This shall not affect liability resulting from an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty or liability for damage resulting from injury to life, limb or health. Verbal agreements require written confirmation. Exclusive place of jurisdiction is Cologne, Germany.
