Privacy notice according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
By signing the form on page 35 and by submitting your electronic registration via the website www.grur2024.org, you agree to the use of your data as follows:
1. General notice
The entire registration process and organisation of the GRUR Annual Meeting as well as the collection, storage and processing of your data is carried out by DeutscheAnwaltAkademie GmbH, jurEvent, Littenstr. 11, 10179 Berlin (DAA). GRUR does not collect, store or process your data.
2. Upon your registration the DAA collects the following data
Title, first name, surname, profession/position, law firm/company, street/house number, postcode/city/country, telephone, fax, email, name and address of your accompanying person, payment method invoice or credit card including credit card data, which conference fee you pay, which programme events you will participate in. In order to issue the certificate of participation according to § 15 FAO, we record the professional programme events you have participated in and for how long. Your name title, law firm/company, city/country will be stored and published in the list of participants, which is accessible to all participants of the Annual Meeting. Cancellation of your participation in the GRUR Annual Meeting is also recorded and saved.
3. Purposes of data processing
The data will be processed at your request and is required for the purposes menti oned in Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a and b GDPR for the appropriate organisation and administration of your participation in the GRUR Annual Meeting. The personal data collected by the DAA for this purpose will be stored until the expiry of the legal retention periods, unless you have agreed to longer storage in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
4. Rights of data subjects
You have the right:
- in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR, to revoke your consent to us at any time. As a result, we are not allowed to continue processing data based on this consent in the future;
- to request information about your personal data processed by us in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR. In particular, you may request information about the pur poses of processing, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data have been or will be dis closed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to deletion, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right of appeal, the origin of your data, if these have not been collected by us, and the existence of automated decision-making including profiling and, if applicable, meaningful information on their details;
- in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, to demand without delay the correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data stored by us;
- to request the deletion of your personal data stored with us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, unless the processing is necessary to exercise the right to freedom of expression and information, to fulfil a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims;
- in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, to restrict the processing of your personal data if you dispute the accuracy of the data, if the processing is unlawful but you refuse to have the data deleted and we no longer need the data, but if you need it to assert, exercise or defend legal claims or if you have filed an objection to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR;
- to receive your personal data, which you have provided to us, in a structured, current and machine-readable format in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR or to request the transmission to another controller and
- to complain to a supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or our company headquarters.
5. Information about your right to object according to Art. 21 GDPR
You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you under Article 6(1)(e) GDPR (data processing in the public interest) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (data processing on the basis of a balance of interests), including profiling under Article 4(4) GDPR based on this provision.
If you object, we will no longer process your personal data, unless we can prove compelling reasons worthy of protection for the processing, which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
If your objection is directed against the processing of data for the purpose of direct advertising, we will immediately stop the processing. In this case, it is not necessary to specify a particular situation. This also applies to profiling insofar as it is connected with such direct advertising.

6. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
7. App of the GRUR Annual Meeting
GRUR offers participants of the Annual Meeting the use of a conference app on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets with the operating systems IOS or Android (GRUR Annual Meeting App) via its partner Eventmobi in Berlin. At the beginning of the use of the app, you will receive separate instructions on what types of personal data are processed when using the Annual Meeting app, what happens to this personal data, and how you can object to data processing if necessary.
